Halisa Denise Parks Class of 1993 Born on July 4, 1975 in Dallas Died on January 2, 1995 Halisa Parks died at the age of 19. She was the daughter of Harold Wayne Parks and Lela Mae Durham Parks. Lisa passed away in January 1995 at her home in Dallas. She battled leukemia from age 10 and succumbed at age 19. She really and truly loved life. She was active in her church youth group and many other community activities. She was a mathematics wiz in school. Her parents Harold and Lela Parks still reside in Dallas. Her mother taught in the Dallas school district for many years, and is now retired. After graduation, Lisa attended Prairie View A & M University for a year. After being in remission for many years, her cancer returned and forced her to return home early in her second year of college.
