United Regional Health Care System (Wichita Falls)

Colbert traveled to Wichita Falls on Sept. 19 for a site visit to United Regional Health Care System. Headed by President/CEO Kevin Gross, the system offers a wide range of health care services, ranging from acute care on two campuses to emergency treatment and a full cardiac care center. The result of a 1997 merger between Bethania Regional Health Care Center and Wichita General Hospital, United Regional employs more than 1,700. This not-for-profit community hospital serviced 15,400 inpatient admissions and 101,226 outpatient visits in 2001. Gross is also managing a large construction project; four floors are being added to United Regional’s 10th Street campus to expand its cardiac care services.
